What you take away

After this workshop you can…

🔗

Change a chain

Measure the chain, use a chain tool, fit the right quick link – you spot wear in good time and replace it yourself.

Index your gears

Derailleur height, B-screw, limit screws, cable tension – you adjust your front and rear derailleur until it shifts cleanly.

🧵

Bowdenzüge & Schaltzüge

Replace shift cables, cut housing to length, route and tension them correctly – you know what to do if one snaps on a tour.

How it works

Your workshop in detail

  1. Meet-up & drivetrain check
Chain check, cassette wear, inspecting the rear derailleur – what is needed, what can still wait?
  2. Theory: how gears & drivetrain work together
Gear ratios, the chain-cassette-chainring relationship, and why good care halves wear.
  3. Hands-on: chain, cable, derailleur
You measure the chain, replace shift cables and adjust the rear and front derailleur – all with our support.
  4. Tips for the road
Emergency link, chain pin, what to do when a shift cable snaps. From now on your touring tool kit is sensibly stocked.
