Mountain Biking in Saalbach — Trails, Location and Conditions
Saalbach is the main gateway to the Skicircus — with 120 km of lines and trails and 9 mountain lifts across 7 peaks, it is the largest connected bike region in Austria. From flowing family trails to the UCI World Cup track, everything is reachable via the lift network. If you want line training, bike park skills and long lift days, this is one of the densest trail areas in the Alps.
Areas at a Glance
- Saalbach-Hinterglemm trails: the Hacklberg Trail and Bergstadt Trail as classics, plus new lines for 2026 on the Schattberg (Back to Black, Bearly Legal) and the Schönleiten (ScheeLeiten Line, Wildenkaramba Line)
- Skicircus network: 9 mountain lifts, 7 peaks, 120 km of lines in total — continuously rideable through to Leogang and Fieberbrunn
- EPIC Bikepark Leogang next door: reachable by lift — connecting to UCI World Cup tracks like Speedster and flow lines like Steinberg Line
What Suits You?
- Trail and flow fans: from the Hacklberg Trail to the new Schattberg lines, Saalbach covers it all — flowing character and plenty of technical tracks for targeted skill building
- E-bike leisure riders: the Glemmtal has classic alpine pasture routes and well-kept forest roads — moderate climbs with hut stops, ideal for long leisurely tours with a view
- Beginners and families: one of the few places with flow trails for beginners AND pro tracks within the same lift network — we build coaching days up step by step
With Leogang and Fieberbrunn in the same lift network, coaching stays extremely flexible — if the weather closes in on the Schattberg, we can switch at short notice to one of the other valley ends of the Skicircus.
