Skill stages by teaching path – what you should be able to do
Basic & Safety Skills
For beginners & touring riders. Safe on forest roads and very easy trails.
- Basics: mounting/setting off/dismounting, balance, shifting, braking
- Trail basics: line of sight, clean rolling, first trail riding behaviour
- Obstacles small & controlled (e.g. small steps/bumps)
Right for you if: you tend to avoid roots/rocks and simply want to “feel safe”.
Trail Skills
For everyone who wants to ride trails more confidently: more control on changing terrain.
- Applied trail riding behaviour: rolling & drop-offs
- Uphill & downhill on terrain: steep climbs/steep descents (incl. clean braking)
- Applied cornering techniques: switchbacks, berms & open corners
- Obstacles on terrain: uphill drop-offs, log hop
Right for you if: easy trails are fine – but tight corners, wet conditions or steps still stress you out.
Master Skills
For advanced trail riders: keeping timing, speed & technique clean under pressure.
- Rock the corners: weight shifting, acceleration technique
- Pumping
- Dropping: floater & speed drop
- Jumping: bunny hop, high jump & speed jump
- Skills & style: rear-wheel surfing, manual & wheelie
Right for you if: you ride trails regularly and now want to learn drops/jumps/switchbacks “cleanly”.
Master Skills – Specific Focus
Discipline fine-tuning (bike park/enduro/DH) or maximum performance – focused on your goal.
- Line scanning at speed, corner speed, timing
- Jump/drop progression (safe & structured)
- Technique under pressure: race/bike park situations
- Prerequisite: solid Master Skills
Right for you if: you want “more speed” – but without chaos in your technique.
