Your learning path
Levels 0–3 – from first steps to the bike park
Short & clear: here is how your learning path is structured.
Core idea: Our skills progression follows the official curriculum from Cycling Austria. You don’t just learn random things – you learn in a proven sequence that builds on itself. Each level has a clear goal, so you know exactly where you stand and what the next step is.

Level 0
Riding Confidence
Your safe start on the bike.
- Basic position & balance on the bike
- Braking, starting off and dismounting safely
- First easy trails & building confidence
This suits you if you’ve just bought an (e-)MTB, are getting back into it after years away, or feel unsure on the bike.

Level 1
Basic & Safety Skills
Your solid foundation on the trail.
- Trail behaviour & where to look
- Controlled braking & balance
- Simple obstacles & first trails
This suits you if you’ve got the basics down and want to move more confidently on easy trails.

Level 2
Trail Skills
You take your basics out into real terrain.
- Line choice & cornering on the trail
- Climbing & descending in the terrain
- Combining your core techniques
This suits you if you already ride trails but often have to push or keep getting stuck at the same spots.

Level 3
Master Skills
More dynamics, flow & demanding lines.
- Active riding, pumping & weight shifts
- Bunny hop, rear-wheel repositioning, drops
- Jumps, steep terrain & bike park lines
This suits you if you ride regularly and want to work specifically on technique, style or key sections.
Course flow
How a course works
1. Warm-up & goal check
An easy roll-out, bike check and a quick chat: what do you want to take away today? That way we start with focus.
2. Practice area
Targeted drills on flat ground: isolate the technique, understand it and repeat – until it sticks.
3. Transfer to the trail
What you’ve practised goes out onto the trail – applied in real terrain, with coaching by your side.
4. Individual feedback
Personal feedback, video analysis and tips for your training at home.

Who is it for?
Who is the skills progression for?
- MTB and E-MTB beginners with a focus on safety
- Trail & enduro riders who want to ride cleaner & smoother
- Bike park newcomers who want to start in a structured way
- Riders with trouble spots on their favourite trails
- Anyone who would rather learn with a plan than by chance
Practical tip: Not sure which level suits you? No problem – just write to us using the contact form below. We’ll help you assess it so you book exactly the right course.

Who trains you

- 🚴 Owner of GEMMA AUSSI – Bike Skill Venture Hub
- Many years of experience on trails in Tyrol, the Alps & in Canada
You get a mix of a clear method, a relaxed atmosphere and honest feedback – always as equals.

FAQ
Frequently Asked Questions
Do I need my own bike?
Yes, you need your own MTB or E-MTB. We can arrange rental bikes through our partners – just let us know when you book.
Which level suits me?
Use the level check at the top of this page – or write to us and we’ll help you assess it.
How fit do I need to be?
Basic fitness is enough. The courses are technique-focused, not endurance tours. We adapt the pace to the group.
What if it rains?
Light rain: we ride anyway – trails in the rain make for good training. In case of thunderstorms or heavy rain we reschedule.
Can I join as a complete beginner?
Yes! Level 0 (riding confidence) is exactly for that. You learn the basic position, braking and balance – without any pressure.
Are there also courses for women or kids?
Yes, we offer Ride like a Girl (women’s courses) and Young Guns (kids & youth).
How does booking work?
Choose your date, book online and pay by bank transfer. You’ll receive a confirmation by email with all the details.
Where do the courses take place?
Depending on the date, at various locations in Tyrol: Bichl Trails Innsbruck, Bikepark Innsbruck, Lermoos, Kitzbühel, Ötztal, Leogang, Ischgl and more.
What should I bring?
Helmet (mandatory), bike, weatherproof clothing, water and a snack. Protectors recommended, especially from Level 2 onwards.
Can I also book one-to-one coaching?
Yes! Write to us using the contact form below – we’ll arrange an individual appointment for you.
Still have questions?
